For most people who are infected with HPV (the virus responsible for genital warts), symptoms do not occur. When genital warts do appear, they usually look like moist, soft, pink, or flesh-colored swellings. These warts can appear in many places, including in the vagina or anus and on the cervix, vulva, penis, or scrotum. Other symptoms of genital warts include burning, pain, discomfort, and itching.
